Mary Van Cline, a highly respected artist that is internationally renowned for her sculpture using photographic imagery is creating a new body of work. After a short hiatus from her work that has been spent on an endeavor of grand proportions, creating “The Documenta Project”, Mary is starting to focus on a new body of work that will be available to the public in the coming weeks. All of Van Cline’s new work will be viewable on line as pieces are finished. Bender Gallery will be exhibiting a few in the gallery as well. The formal unveiling will be later this year. Mary has been spending her time and resources on “The Documenta Project” which is nearing completion as well as contemplating her next chapter of creativity. With some of the new work available at this time and viewable online as it is completed, sales will help raise funds for Mary to both finish “The Documenta Project” as well help her move forward with her new work. We are excited about this body of work and hope to hear from you with questions!
The work consists of glass panels displaying the iconic imagery that Van Cline is well known for, as well as images that she has kept in her private collection until now. Some of the work will integrate recognizable sculptural elements that Mary is known for. Others will be panels of pure imagery on glass, all of which will transport the viewer to a different place and time. Van Cline’s work invites one to become part the imagery and to imagine what it would have been like to be there at that moment in time - a moment that is conceived differently by each person that views her work.
